I have three other DVD Recorders and have never had so much trouble getting one to work. About ready to use it as a paper weight

I have one big complaint about this product...if you lose the remote, you are out of luck. You can't watch movies without the remote. I couldn't find a replacement remote in stores that would work with a DVD recorder. I had to order a replacement from the manufacturer when my dog ate my remote. The recording feature works very well but the directions are not very easy to follow.
